Pittsburgh Farmer's Markets

Aren't you ready for some warm weather and good produce? It's on its way!

Pittsburgh's city farmer's markets open the week of May 12th and run through November. They're a great way to save money and support local growers, not to mention a really wonderful place to take kids!

Our favorite location is the farmer's market on the Northside, right next to ACAC on Friday afternoons. You can find us there almost every week during the summer. My kids love it! We often pick out something new to try and get a snack while we're there. Some of our favorite farmer's market finds: honeycrisp apples (closer to fall) from our favorite "apple guy", fresh plums, cherry chocolate bread from Wood Street bread bakery, gyros from the Greek food stand (a quick Friday night dinner!), country fruit jam from the berry farm, spaghetti squash (so much cheaper than the grocery store), italian sweet red peppers, and giant zucchini and heads of cabbage.
